mentoring + coaching
We do not ascribe to any one definition of mentoring or coaching. In terms of key characteristics, mentoring or coaching is above all a relationship built upon trust.
Through the relationship a mentor supports a mentee to achieve a goal. The scope of mentoring is such that the goal could relate to any aspect of the mentee’s life. We do not ascribe to any one definition of mentoring or coaching. In terms of key characteristics, mentoring or coaching is above all a relationship built upon trust.
Coaching often provides more specific support which is focused on improving performance. Coaching has a specific agenda and is task related.

Working with different personalities, together with techniques for feedback and influencing are also covered. Download Course PDF
Advanced Practice for Mentors and Coaches. You will practice two techniques, the Disney Strategy and the POWER Approach, to illustrate how structured questioning can help a mentee/coachee reach a resolution, or gain clarity on a particular issue. You will also take part in a 1:1 role play with a professional actor (playing the role of a mentee/coachee). Role plays last for around five minutes and are discreetly observed by around five other participants. Afterwards the observers provide detailed and structured feedback on your role play.
