what we mean by vision and mission

An organisation’s vision represents its overarching goal. It can also ‘paint a picture’ of how life will be when it achieves its goal.

A mission statement gives an outline of how the organisation’s vision will be achieved.

why vision and mission are important

Without a goal, an organisation becomes directionless and the general public struggle to understand its relevance. Furthermore, an organisation’s vision and mission is its ultimate decision making tool: it helps determine what an organisation should and should not do.

our expertise

We help new organisations to develop their visions and missions and also help more mature organisations to re-affirm or iterate theirs. Since our working environment is ever-changing, we believe there is a need for all organisations to periodically revisit and renew their commitment to their vision and mission.

While the development or clarification of vision and mission can be a completely distinct piece of work, it is often a precursor to strategic planning work or considered within the context of a complete organisational review.

For an example of how we have assisted an organisation in this area go to our Case Studies section.
